About Mushrooms
- Although we eat mushrooms like a vegetable, they have no roots, flowers, seeds or leaves
- There are many different types of edible mushrooms with various shapes, sizes, colors and textures
- Eaten as an ingredient in many main-course dishes, salads and sauces, or as a side dish
Selecting
Choose mushrooms that are firm and fresh, without being dried around the cap edges.
Storing
It’s best to eat them as soon as possible, but you can store mushrooms in your refrigerator for a few days. Do not clean them first, and make sure they can “breathe”.
Eating
Mushrooms are delicious fried, sautéed, stir fried, steamed or grilled. Don’t use too much water when you clean them – they will go mushy. Just remove dirt with a brush, knife or your fingers and if you do rinse them, do it quickly and dry them immediately with a paper towel.
