As from 2005, safety regulations in the European Union require all food distributors to maintain food traceability records.

All Dole food shipments – including boxes and containers used in transport – are now labeled and coded so that the product, batch, country of origin and even producer farm can be identified at any time. This means that in the event of a potential problem, any Dole food item can be traced back through all the handling processes to where it came from. So if ever there is a problem, it can be specified and remedied quickly.

We regularly check our worldwide food tracking system with mock exercises and random spot-checks, to be sure it is always working.
